Parrot Tulip 'Rococo'

 

It took me some time to like T.'Rococo'. It's usually really mad and ungainly, with twisting, oddly shaped petals - highly eccentric.

But when I found this more elegant and refined version, I was forced to reconsider. The blue sheen overlaying the crimson to red petals, was an exciting discovery and when married to the more controlled shape, Wow!

Rococo flowers earlier than most parrots and is also one of the shorter ones at 35cm and therefore perfect for pots.

Sabina Rüber has been a professional photographer for over twenty years. Having specialised in flower & plant photography she has spent countless hours searching and researching the best, most photogenic flowers. This gives her a unique insight into what makes a truly stunning flower.

Often frustrated with the visual 'simple mindedness' of the horticultural business, and longing for a more creative way to represent some of the truly stunning flowers grown: but often unavailable:: she has now started sarüSELECT.

Each seasonal collection, Spring & Autumn, will be personally selected by Sabina for their visual impact.

sarüSELECT was conceived from a passion for plants and created with the desire to market exquisite tulips & flowerbulbs in an exquisite way. Unfortunately this has so far not proved possible. We do however, have a large volume of knowledge, material and know-how begging to bloom.

So…

 

We are now intent on evolving the concept; moving away from selling to creating an online resource where the guilty pleasure of creating perfect plant combinations can be supported and developed. An interactive visual KnowledgeBase. With emphasis on the visual. Definitely not the dotty and clunky databases that litter the "world:wide:web".


The annual trials of tulips & flowerbulbs are continuing and being documented as sumptuously as ever by Sabina Rüber. And from the new year (2012) fresh artwork will be appearing regularly building towards a fully fledged resource ready for the fall, to help you make the best selections for your home and garden.
